THE SLINGERS

Over the last five years of eclectic releases and impassioned live performances, The Slingers have cemented themselves as one of the most unique bands in the contemporary Australian underground/alternative scene. The band signed to Flightless Records (Amyl & The Sniffers, King Gizzard) in 2020, releasing a double A-Side 7-inch vinyl, The Cruellest Cut//Kind Hearts (a collaboration with legend of the Melbourne underground, Spike Fuck).

Recent releases have seen the band make a foray into ‘Motel Pop’. The genre is less defined by production than by its lyrical content, chronicling with a blend of comedy and tragedy the lives of ordinary people living and struggling through our current age of loneliness. The evolution of ‘Motel Pop’ will culminate in the 2023 release of the band’s debut, full-length LP, Sentimentalism (Flightless Records).
